High performance nautical fabrics
For several years, our wide range of upholstered fabrics adapted to the nautical sector has decorated and protected commercial and commercial boats thanks to a meticulous research activity by our team.
The characteristics of resistance allow the fabrics an excellent use also in the nautical sector where in addition to the sun, iodine, salt, dirt due to contact with various creams are particularly aggressive: in these cases the fabrics with particular hydro and oil repellent finishes , as well as waterproof, are gradually replacing those in imitation leather which, although resistant, leave something to be desired in terms of comfort and pleasantness to the touch.
In this regard, precisely for use in cruise ships, Tessitura di Borgomanero has developed a particular finishing, which, together with the traditional cushion padding, makes the fabric fireproof according to the most restrictive American standards such as the IMO and European ones MED.
Numerous cruise companies all over the world are already using our OUTDOOR acrylic fabrics with satisfaction for their upholstery.
In the more classic colors, but with waterproofing treatments with special resins, the fabrics are also used in the manufacture of awnings, products for the protection of rolled sails, and what is necessary on deck.

It has always been and continues to be the primary objective, pursued with the search for increasingly high-performance materials (fibers and finishes) for heavy OUTDOOR use. The very different climatic situations in the various parts of the world, the aggressiveness of atmospheric agents in general and of UV rays in particular, have naturally selected the range of fabrics that can be used, imposing constant research and testing of new fibers suitable for heavy use. Tessitura di Borgomanero uses only mass-dyed acrylic fibers in its OUTDOOR fabrics which are the only ones specifically designed for this purpose and which for more than 30 years have proven to be the best performing. This is due to the special mass dyeing process which consists in the addition of colored pigments already in the chemical production process and not subsequently. So the fabrics are the best for sun protection (garden and beach umbrellas, curtains, covers), for outdoor furniture (coverings for garden furniture, sofas) and for boating (covers, cushions for boats cruise and pleasure boats).
